(Kelso, California – June 27, 2011)
A Union Pacific Railroad worker driving on a trackside road just south of the Nevada state line in San Bernardino County, CA Monday morning discovered the remains of an unidentified victim of obviously being hit by a train.
There was no train report of the accident, which occurred within the boundaries of the Mojave National Preserve, but body parts were scattered along a 150 foot stretch of UPRR tracks, and the victim was later described as a 37-year-old man. U.S. Park Service Rangers, Union Pacific Police and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office personnel have all joined in the investigation of the gruesome tragedy.
